| Sheet material and grade |
Confirm whether the quotation is for PVC, polycarbonate, FRP, or another plastic roofing sheet, and ask for the stated grade or resin type. |
Different plastics age, transmit light, resist impact, and handle heat differently, so two sheets with the same size can have very different prices and service lives. |
Ask: What exact plastic material is being quoted, and is there a datasheet for the grade? |
| Thickness and profile |
Compare sheet thickness, corrugation shape, width, length, and usable coverage after overlaps, not only the nominal sheet size. |
A cheaper sheet may cover less roof area or need more support, fasteners, and overlap allowance, which changes the real installed cost. |
Ask for the price per usable square meter based on your roof layout, not just the price per sheet. |
| UV protection and weathering option |
Ask whether the sheet has UV coating, co-extruded protection, or no stated weathering layer, and which side faces upward. |
Outdoor roofing sheets without suitable UV protection can yellow, become brittle, or lose strength faster, especially on exposed roofs. |
Ask: Is the UV-protected side marked, and what warranty or test information is available for outdoor exposure? |
| Fixing system compatibility |
Match the sheet profile with the correct roofing screws, washers, caps, and support spacing recommended by the sheet supplier. |
Incorrect fixing can cause cracks, leaks, pull-out, or excessive movement, and the extra hardware can affect the total project price. |
Ask whether the quote includes recommended fasteners and sealing washers, or whether they are priced separately. |
| Delivery, packing, and breakage allowance |
Clarify packing method, minimum order quantity, loading length limits, freight terms, and responsibility for damage in transit. |
Long plastic sheets are bulky and can crack or scratch if poorly packed, so freight and replacement risk can change the final cost. |
Ask for a landed cost estimate that separates sheet price, packing, freight, and any spare-sheet allowance. |
