A 10-foot sheet length does not tell you how much roof area one sheet will cover. The effective cover width changes with the profile and side lap, so two sheets with the same length may require different quantities for the same roof.
Ask for the price per sheet and the price per covered area. This distinction matters because a lower unit price may not produce a lower installed cost if the sheet has less usable width or requires more overlap and accessories.
First, identify the exact sheet construction. Confirm the profile, base material, thickness, surface coating or finish, colour if relevant, and whether the requested product must be Tata-branded. Avoid comparing a branded coated sheet with an unspecified generic sheet as if they were identical products.
Next, calculate the required quantity from the roof dimensions and effective cover width rather than from the nominal sheet length alone. Account for side and end laps, cutting waste, roof pitch and any sheets needed for ridges, valleys or other roof details.
Check what the quoted price includes. A sheet-only price may exclude fasteners, sealing washers, ridge pieces, flashings, packing and transport. Confirm the currency, quotation basis, minimum order, payment terms and delivery destination before using the figure for a project budget.
For a useful enquiry, send the required quantity, roof dimensions or coverage area, the exact profile and thickness, and the delivery destination. If you are also buying compatible roofing fasteners, state the substrate and sheet profile so the fastener type and washer arrangement can be checked separately.
